Find Relief Naturally With A Reiki Healer

By Beverly C. Ralph

Natural, alternative and homeopathic genres of healing are becoming increasingly popular. It may be that they are non-invasive, pain free and do not have unsavory side effects that make them attractive to so many. Session with a reiki healer could be very beneficial to people with a variety of conditions.

This Japanese healing technique is centered around the idea that it is possible to harness one's spirit power and use it for beneficial means. The name is comprised of two separate words, Rei and Ki, which represent "higher power of universal life" and "energy". When they are combined, the definition changes slightly to mean "life force energy", that power believed to allow a person's body and soul to heal itself.

While the nature of this practice is spiritual, it is not base on, nor does it have any association with any particular religion or belief system. No dogma is in place for those who wish to utilize this technique. An individual does not even need to fully believe in energy transference for it to be effective.

A normal session is between 60 and 90 minutes with the client resting comfortably on their backs on a table, or sitting upright in a chair. The treatment begins by allowing the individual to discuss their concerns with the practitioner and giving them the opportunity to express what they hope the healing will achieve. The information gives the therapist specific points to which energy should be targeted.

Clients are generally requested to wear loose fitting, comfortable clothing that does not bind or restrict. The individual remains fully clothed throughout the session, but the lighter and freer the garments are, the more smoothly the exchange goes. Physical contact is rarely ever made between the client and the practitioner, with only light touches when deemed necessary.

The session continues with the practitioner starting at either the client's head or their feet and performing a routine set of hand positions. The purpose of these is to direct their energy into the individual in a way which relaxes them and balances the chakras. Once that has been accomplished, it is easier to focus and target the specific issues.

This type of practice lays no claims of being a cure for any illness or disease, although it is often used as a treatment for many conditions. Some of these include anxiety, stress, high blood pressure, insomnia, headaches, pain, addiction, asthma and detoxification. This technique has many people satisfaction and relief from a bevy of physical and mental concerns.
